What is Botox?
World wide botox and other neuromodulators has remained the number one cosmetic treatment for both men and women, and for good reason. It is an essential part in any anti-ageing regime as it can prevent the formation of static wrinkles and soften ones that have already formed over time.
By relaxing the muscles used for facial expression, the lines we see when animating the face are greatly diminished. This however does not mean that you will be expressionless...
When done well, your results should look natural, giving a refreshed and rejuvenated look.
Treatment lasts approximately 3 months at which point the treatment needs to be repeated.

Will I Experience Bruising After Botox Treatment?
While it is uncommon with Botox injections, you'll reduce your chance of bruising by avoiding alcohol, multivitamins, blood thinners, and anticoagulants like aspirin prior to treatment.
When Will I See Results?
While this varies by individual, most people begin to see results between four to seven days after getting Botox. The maximal effect will set in after a full two weeks.
Why do I Have Small Bumps On My Skin?
Don't freak out! These are completely normal and should resolve within 30 minutes of injection. If not, try icing them.
My Head Hurts After Treatment, Is This Normal?
Absolutely. About 10% of people get headaches after injections, and we advise you to take Advil or Tylenol to ease the pain.
Can I combine Botox with other cosmetic treatments?
Yes, Botox can be safely combined with other cosmetic treatments like dermal fillers, laser treatments, chemical peels, and microneedling. In fact, combining treatments can often enhance overall results. Always consult with your provider to determine the best combination for your aesthetic goals.
Is there any downtime after Botox, and what should I avoid?
Botox requires minimal to no downtime, so most patients return to their daily activities immediately. However, it’s recommended to avoid strenuous exercise, lying down, or massaging the treated areas for at least 4 hours after treatment. These precautions help ensure optimal results and prevent the Botox from migrating from the injection site.
Myth: Botox will freeze your face and make you expressionless.
Fact: When administered by an experienced professional, Botox will soften wrinkles and lines without affecting your ability to make natural facial expressions. The goal is to relax the muscles responsible for wrinkles, not to immobilize your face. Proper technique allows for smooth, subtle results.
Myth: Botox is toxic and unsafe.
Fact: Botox is derived from botulinum toxin, but it is used in very small, controlled doses that have been extensively studied and approved for cosmetic and therapeutic use. When administered by a qualified professional, Botox is considered safe and effective, with millions of treatments performed worldwide.
Myth: Once you start Botox, you have to keep doing it forever.
Fact: There is no requirement to continue Botox treatments once you start. The effects of Botox typically last 3-4 months, and once the product wears off, your muscles will return to their normal function, and wrinkles may gradually reappear. However, stopping Botox will not worsen your wrinkles; they will simply return to their pre-treatment state.
Myth: Botox is only for older people.
Fact: Botox is not just for people with deep-set wrinkles. It’s also commonly used as a preventive treatment in younger individuals to prevent the development of wrinkles before they form. Many people in their 20s and 30s use Botox to maintain smooth skin and delay the signs of aging.
Myth: Botox is addictive.
Fact: Botox is not physically addictive. While some people may return for regular treatments because they like the results, there is no chemical dependency associated with Botox. It simply offers a temporary cosmetic effect, and there are no withdrawal symptoms when stopping its use.
Myth: Botox can move to other parts of the face or body.
Fact: When Botox is injected by a qualified professional, it stays in the targeted muscle area where it was administered. It does not spread or "migrate" to other areas of the face or body. Any effects are localized, and this is why proper injection techniques are crucial for safe, effective treatment.
These clarifications help to debunk persistent myths and provide a more accurate understanding of how Botox works.
